1. Introduction
GoSharp ("GoSharp", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of every rider, driver, courier, merchant, and business partner on our platform.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how we keep it secure, and the rights you have over your information across all markets in which GoSharp operates.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated as you use the GoSharp platform, and information from trusted third parties (such as verification, payment, and mapping partners).
3. Account Information
Name, phone number, email address, profile photo, preferred language, and account credentials.
For drivers and couriers: government-issued identification, driver's licence, vehicle registration, insurance, roadworthy documents, and background-check results where legally permitted.
4. Location Data
Precise GPS location before, during, and (briefly) after a trip or delivery to match you with a nearby driver, calculate fares, provide navigation, and enable safety features.
Approximate location for service availability, fraud prevention, and market analytics. You can control location permissions from your device settings.
5. Device Information
Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, IP address, browser type, app version, and crash logs used for diagnostics and security.
6. Payment Information
Card details, bank information, mobile-money identifiers, and wallet balances are processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment partners. GoSharp does not store full card numbers on your device or on our servers.
7. Ride and Delivery Information
Pickup and drop-off locations, route, distance, duration, fare, ratings, receipts, and any items you dispatch through GoSharp Delivery.
8. Communications
In-app messages and calls between riders, drivers, and support are routed through anonymised numbers and may be recorded for safety, quality, and dispute resolution.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
On our websites and email communications, we use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure performance, and improve the experience. You can control cookies through your browser.
10. Analytics
We use aggregated and de-identified analytics to understand feature usage, improve reliability, and detect fraud. Analytics data is not used to identify you personally.
11. Security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, monitoring, and regular security testing.
No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at support@gosharp.org.
12. Fraud Prevention
We may use device signals, behavioural patterns, and third-party data to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unsafe activity on the platform.
13. Data Sharing
We share personal data only where necessary to operate the service: with drivers and riders as part of matched trips; with delivery recipients; with payment processors; with regulators when legally required; and with vetted service providers who act under our instructions.
14. Third-party Services
The platform integrates with mapping, payments, communications, identity verification, and cloud infrastructure providers. Each processes data under contractual data-protection commitments with GoSharp.
15. International Transfers
GoSharp operates across Africa and may transfer personal data across borders to deliver the service, always subject to appropriate safeguards under applicable law.
16. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations, and to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
17. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Exercise these rights from within the app or by contacting support@gosharp.org.
18. Account Deletion
You can request account deletion from within the app. Some information may be retained where required by law, for fraud prevention, or to resolve pending obligations.
19. Children's Privacy
GoSharp is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
